SCORE: 5 Top Presentation Principles
S - Structure We need to structure our content so our information connects us to the audience and back to us. The most important thing we can do to prepare is to put ourselves in the clients' shoes and ask "What's in it for me?"
C - Content What the audience is looking for is content that is meaningful and relevant to them and not a 'data dump' of everything we happen to know about a topic. The second question to ask is, "How can I engage my audience and assist them to remember what was said?"
O - Outstanding Differentiators What differentiates us from the crowd? What causes people to remember not only what we said but that we were the person to say it? How can we differentiate ourselves in a way that is both professional and appropriate?
R - Reverberating Truth I wouldn't be surprised if you were thinking "What's the big deal? Everybody stretches the truth from time to time." And you'd be right. However, what if I told you that truth is the single most important element in connecting with a client?
E - Express Heartfelt Commitment Without our first being committed to our client and their well being, the client will never fully commit to us. It's as simple as that and yet this may be the most difficult step of all to express in an effective way.
